According to Sternenko, the helicopter was hit by an FPV drone, which was funded by Ukrainians themselves.
A Ukrainian UAV hit the Mi-8 helicopter in the tail section. The fate of the helicopter is unknown, it stopped operating in the area.
- The day before, a video of a Russian Mi-28 helicopter being shot down by an FPV drone was leaked online. This is the first documented case in history.
