Ukrainian drones strike Russian Druzhba oil pipeline again, halting supplies to Hungary
Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces attacked key facilities of the Russian Druzhba oil pipeline with drones for the third time, causing oil supplies to Hungary to be suspended
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó posted this on Facebook.
"Last night we received news that the Druzhba pipeline at the Russia-Belarus border was attacked again — the third time in a short period. Oil supplies to Hungary have been halted once more. This is another attack on our country’s energy security, another attempt to drag us into the war. It will not work. We will continue to fully support peace efforts and protect our national interests," Szijjártó wrote.
Robert Madyar Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Unmanned Systems Forces, confirmed that the Madjar Birds unit was involved in the August 21 attack.
"The 'Sting' was delivered to the worms by the 'Birds' of the 14th Regiment of the UAV Forces," Madjar wrote.
The Druzhba pipeline continues to be a symbol of some European countries’ dependence on Russian energy resources, even despite EU sanctions.
