Ukrainian army repels 82 Russian attacks over last day - General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported this on April 29.

Russian attacks across Ukraine

During the day, Russia launched 4 missile strikes, 35 airstrikes, and 56 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks resulted in civilian casualties. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation 

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled seven attacks in the vicinity of Novoserhiivka, Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled nine attacks near the settlements of Tverdokhlibove, Nevske, and Serebrianske forestry in the Luhansk region; Terny, Torske, and south of Zarichne in the Donetsk region. More than 10 localities suffered from artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 27 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Verkhniokamianske, Novyi, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Rozdolivka, and Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region, where the Russian army, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical situation. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 attacks near the towns of Arkhanhelske, Novokalynove, Ocheretyne, Sokil, Semenivka, and Orlivka in the Donetsk region, where the Russian troops, supported by air power, tried to force Ukrainian units out of their positions. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian troops in the vicinity of Kostiantynivka, Heorhiivka, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, where the Russians, supported by aviation, tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 15 times. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Russian army, with the support of aviation, attacked the Ukrainian positions 5 times near Staromaiorske, Donetsk region, and Novodarivka, Zaporizhzhia region. About 15 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson sector, Russia does not abandon its intention to force Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, during the day, with the support of aviation, it carried out one unsuccessful attack on the Ukrainian positions near the village of Krynky, Kherson region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions 

Over the course of the day, Ukrainian aviation struck at 5 manpower concentration areas.

The missile troops struck 1 Russian manpower concentration area.
