Ukrainian army repels 63 Russian attacks - General Staff

Russian attacks across Ukraine

Russia launched 8 missile attacks (with S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles at the civilian infrastructure of Myrnohrad, Novohradivka, Donetsk region, and Antonivka, Kherson region) and 38 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Multi-storey and private houses, schools, kindergartens, a shopping center and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation

There were 94 combat engagements over the last day. The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 35 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 Russian attacks near Tabaivka, Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region, where the Russian troops tried to break through the Ukrainian defense. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 7 Russian attacks in the areas of Ternove and Torske in Donetsk region. More than 10 localities suffered from enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 10 Russian attacks near Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 19 Russian attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and another 9 attacks near Opytne, Vodiane, Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Marinka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invading troops near Heorhiivka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. About 5 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy attack near Zolota Nyva in the Donetsk region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia sector, Ukrainian troops repelled five Russian attacks north of Pryiutne, south of Chervone and west of Verbove. More than 15 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson sector, more than 6 localities were subjected to Russian artillery shelling. 

Russia doesn't abandon its intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. Thus, during the day, the Russian troops made four unsuccessful assaults on the Ukrainian positions.

• Over the past day, Russian troops have been actively engaged in combat in the Marinka sector. Ukrainian forces repelled 25 Russian attacks and destroyed 990 soldiers.
