Ukrainian army engaged in fierce fighting with Russia's forces in Avdiivka, Kurakhove sectors  - Syrskyi

"My main task is to effectively use the combat capabilities of the weapons and military equipment of our troops to inflict maximum losses on the enemy and destroy a significant part of their artillery and armor; to hold the positions we have and recapture the positions where we retreated," the commander-in-chief said.

According to him, in order to strengthen defense on the main directions, it is necessary to correctly distribute Ukrainian reserves. 

During the meeting with the brigade commanders, he also focused on how the work at the control points is organized to fire on Russian enemy, on the timeliness and adequacy of decisions made in accordance with the current situation, and on maintaining constant interaction between units.

Later, Syrskyi added that Ukrainian brigades are holding the defense in the Avdiivka and Kurakhove sectors and are fighting fierce battles with Russia's overwhelming forces.

"The enemy is suffering significant losses in manpower and equipment," noted Syrskyi.
