Ukrainian Air Force destroys 53 out of 57 Russian UAVs overnight
On the night of August 11, Russian forces launched a combined attack on Ukraine using both missiles and drones
Ukrainian air defenses successfully shot down 53 Russian air targets, according to the Commander of Ukraine's Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk.
Russian troops fired 4 KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region and deployed 57 Shahed drones from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeysk, and Kursk areas in Russia.
Additionally, the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region was reportedly attacked with rocket artillery.
During the anti-aircraft battle, Ukrainian Defense Forces, including mobile firing groups, aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, and electronic warfare systems, successfully shot down 53 Russian UAVs across multiple regions, including Mykolaiv, Odesa, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Kherson, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Rivne, and Cherkasy.
Regarding the use of North Korean missiles by Russia, the Air Force commander noted: “Although KN-23 ballistic missiles rarely hit their intended targets, they still pose a significant threat to civilians. Please take care of yourselves and your families.”

A Russian drone attack on the night of August 11 has killed a father and his 4-year-old son. They died under the rubble of their Kyiv region home. Several others were injured in the attack.
