Russian media outlet Vazhnye Istorii (Important Stories) reports.

The surge in appeals occurred during the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive in Russia’s Kursk region, with 460 appeals processed in August. This surpassed the previous record of 453 reports set in March 2022.

The outlet also noted that complaints about missing soldiers began to rise in the summer following the battles for the Ukrainian city of Vovchansk in May 2024. Since February 2022, the total number of such appeals has approached 20,000.

  • The situation on the Ukrainian group's left flank in the Kursk region worsened as the Russian forces began active assault operations, DeepState reported on September 11.
