Ukraine's General Staff reports 85 combat clashes at front, 25 in Pokrovsk sector

On August 27, 85 combat engagements occurred at the frontline as the occupying Russian army continued to assault Ukrainian positions

Ukraine's General Staff reported the information.

The areas affected by Russian artillery and mortar fire included Sopych, Bachivsk, Porokhon, Pokrovka, Krasnopillia, Dmytrivka, Sydorivka, Ulanove, and Orlivka. Additionally, Russian forces fired aerial guided bombs at Vorozhba, Esman, Vilna Sloboda, Atynske, Horile, and Bezsalivka.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, Russia continues to assault Ukrainian defensive lines near Vovchansk, with the attack ongoing. Additionally, Russian forces have used unguided aerial missiles targeting Kozacha Lopan.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian forces launched 15 offensives around Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kolisnykivka, and Stelmakhivka. Seven attacks are still ongoing. Russian forces also carried out five air strikes on Senkove, Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi, Synkivka, and Petropavlivka.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian army launched seven attacks near Druzheliubivka, Nevske, and Novosadove. These attacks were repelled by the skilled actions of Ukrainian defenders.

In the Siversk sector, the Defense Forces of Ukraine successfully repelled a Russian attack near Verkhniokamianske.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops advanced toward Hryhorivka, Andriivka, and Klishchiivka but were defeated in six engagements.

In the Toretsk sector, the occupying army unsuccessfully attempted nine times to push Ukrainian units out of their positions near Toretsk and New York.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russia launched 25 assaults in the areas of Sukha Balka, Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, Novooleksandrivka, Mykhailivka, Novohrodivka, and Selydove. Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled 24 of these attacks, with one battle still ongoing. Russia’s losses in this area are still being assessed.

In the Kurakhove sector, Russian troops launched 11 attacks. Nine attempts to advance were repelled, with two ongoing near Karlivka.

In the Vremivka sector, Russia attempted to storm Ukrainian positions near Vodiane and Prechystivka five times, all without success.

In the Orikhiv sector, the occupying army conducted three offensives near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne. Ukrainian defenders repelled all attacks.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russia was also defeated in this sector, with two attacks on Ukrainian positions. Russian troops used aviation to drop five aerial guided bombs in the areas of Sadove and Tiahynka.

In other areas, the operational situation remains unchanged.

  • Over the past day, the occupying Russian army lost 1,280 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 12 tanks and shot down 120 drones and 103 missiles.
