Reuters reports, citing sources.

The vessels in question are the Aframax-type tankers Kusto and Cai Yun, registered in the Seychelles. Both tankers belong to Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet” and sail under the Seychellois flag.

According to the report, the Kusto tanker can carry about 700,000 barrels of oil.

As a result of the attack, oil loading in Primorsk was temporarily halted. It is currently unclear whether the port has resumed operations.

Primorsk is a key Baltic export hub for Russian oil and the largest port in western Russia. Its throughput capacity is about 1 million barrels of crude oil per day.

  • Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that on September 12, Ukrainian Security Service drones struck Russia’s largest oil terminal on the Baltic Sea, Primorsk, halting oil shipments.
