Ukraine's Air Force, intelligence assess Russian missile capabilities
Russian forces accumulate missiles over time and then use them immediately. However, they still have a certain amount of stockpile
Ilia Yevlash, a spokesman for Ukraine's Air Force, said this during the telethon.
He noted that the Russians have a lot of missiles left, according to Ukrainian intelligence, about a thousand. However, they are constantly using new missiles, so their stockpile has already been substantially exhausted.
"We can see this from the analysis of the missiles the enemy has used recently. For example, when they used the Zircon, the Kyiv Research and Expert Center found that the missile was quite new, manufactured after the full-scale invasion," Yevlash said.
Analyzing the nature and purpose of Russia's missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine, the Air Force spokesman added that the Russians accumulate a stockpile over time and then immediately use it.
"They don't have much time, they just made this missile and immediately put it into action. In particular, the Russians use and test these missiles in combat conditions. They are testing our air defense, testing their missiles, and North Korean missiles have also been used on our territory. Therefore, one of the functions of such strikes is reconnaissance," he added.
As Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, noted on Espreso, after certain pauses needed by Russia to restore missile stockpiles, the enemy may continue terrorist attacks on various critical and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.
"The enemy has not abandoned its terrorist practices. In addition, it has a certain range of missile weapons that has not been used recently. These are the same Kalibrs that pose a certain danger. Russia does not comply with international humanitarian law and has not abandoned missile strikes, so the air alert is a serious signal, and the entire country, both civilians and military, must take it responsibly," Yusov emphasized.
- On the morning of March 25, Russian troops launched a missile attack on the capital of Ukraine. Ukraine’s Air Defense Forces destroyed two Russian ballistic missiles over Kyiv. According to Defense Express sources, Russia hit Kyiv with two newest Zircon missiles.
