Ukraine’s air defenses shoot down over 6,000 aerial targets in July
In July 2025, Ukraine’s air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 6,262 aerial targets launched by Russian forces, according to a report from the Ukrainian Air Force

What exactly was shot down and in what quantity?
- 65 Kh-101/Kh-55SM cruise missiles
- 19 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles
- 4 Kalibr cruise missiles
- 9 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided air-launched missiles
- 20 Iskander-K cruise missiles
- 2,990 Shahed-type attack drones
- 912 reconnaissance drones
- 2,243 drones of other types
Throughout the month, Ukrainian pilots carried out 790 sorties.
- Around 550 flights provided fighter cover
- Over 160 supported ground forces with airstrikes and fire missions
"In July, Ukrainian Defense Forces’ aviation took out 1,012 aerial targets and struck enemy command centers, logistics hubs, and troop concentrations," the Air Force said.
In June, Ukraine's Defense Forces destroyed 4,758 Russian aerial targets, most of them being Shahed drones.
