Anatolii Khrapchynskyi, Deputy Director General of an electronic warfare (EW) equipment manufacturing company, made this statement during an interview with Espreso.

"Ukraine needs to expand its production of long-range drones. A recent article in a European publication pointed out that Ukraine could disrupt Russia's aircraft manufacturing by targeting specific factories in western Russia that produce critical components. For example, Ryazan is home to facilities that manufacture onboard radar systems," Khrapchynskyi explained.

According to Khrapchynskyi, Ukraine's primary objectives now are to increase production of long-range weapons, enhance their technical performance, and prepare for Russia to strengthen its defensive countermeasures.

"It's also crucial to employ decoy tactics—such as using devices that distract the enemy or overwhelm their air defense systems. Russia uses this same strategy against our air defenses by launching swarms of drones that mimic larger targets. The outlook is generally positive, but our Western partners are somewhat concerned about Ukraine possessing weapons that can strike targets over 2,500 kilometers away. They recognize that Ukraine has effectively regained the military capabilities that were relinquished under the Budapest Memorandum," Khrapchynskyi added.

  • On December 25, Russian forces suffered losses of at least 840 troops within a 24-hour period. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 74 enemy artillery systems and 3 tanks.
