Ukraine reports 185 combat clashes at frontline, repels 58 attacks in Pokrovsk sector

Over the course of July 2, 185 combat clashes were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front. In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 58 Russian assaults

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff stated this in its report as of 08:00 a.m.

"Yesterday, the Russian army carried out two missile strikes on positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, using seven missiles, along with 62 airstrikes, dropping 93 guided bombs. In addition, they fired 5,520 times, including 84 with multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed 3,194 'kamikaze' drones," the General Staff reported.

They added that over the past day, Ukraine's aviation, missile forces and artillery struck eight Russian manpower and weapons concentration areas, as well as two Russian artillery systems.

Frontline situation

In the Sumy and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian defenders repelled 13 Russian attacks. Over the past day, Russian troops launched 9 airstrikes, dropping a total of 19 guided aerial bombs, and fired 360 times, including 19 from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces attempted 25 assaults to break through the Ukrainian defensive lines near Hlyboke, Zelene, Vovchansk, Milove, Ambarne, and in the direction of Mytrofanivka and Mala Shapkivka.

In the Kupiansk sector, nine Russian attacks took place yesterday. Ukrainian forces repelled assault actions near Stepova Novoselivka, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, Zelenyi Hai, and toward Petropavlivka.

In the Lyman sector, Russian invading forces launched 18 attacks, attempting to break through Ukrainian defenses near Ridkodub, Torske, Hrekivka, Hryhorivka, Zelena Dolyna, Yampolivka, Karpivka, Kolodiazi, and in the directions of Cherneshchyna, Shandryholove, Serednie, and Novyi Myr.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian troops successfully stopped three Russian attacks in the direction of Fedorivka and Vyiimka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops attacked five times in the direction of Bondarne, Markove, and near Chasiv Yar.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops carried out 11 attacks near Toretsk, Dyliivka, Shcherbynivka, Petrivka, Rusyn Yar, and toward Pleshchiivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 58 Russian assaults near Popiv Yar, Poltavka, Myrne, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Udachne, Kotlyne, Novomykolaivka, Novoserhiivka, Dachne, Oleksiivka, Orikhove, and toward Volodymyrivka, Novopavlivka, Razine, and Molodetske.

In the Novopavlivka sector, Russian forces carried out 19 attacks yesterday near Zaporizhzhia, Yalta, Myrne, Piddubne, and Shevchenko.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian forces did not conduct offensive operations.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russian troops launched one assault on the Ukrainian Defense Forces' positions near Kamianske.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled two Russian attacks.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive groups were detected.

  • Over the past 24 hours, the occupying Russian army lost 1,000 troops and dozens of weapons and equipment in the war against Ukraine.
