Ukraine needs to inflict losses on Russia in ratio of 1 to 8, or better, 1 to 15 to win - volunteer fighter
Volunteer Oleksandr Yabchanka, commander of the Honor Company of the Da Vinci Wolves battalion, says that to win the war, Ukraine needs to inflict much greater losses on Russia
He said this on Espreso TV.
"It's no secret that Russia has a greater mobilization resource - at least 4 to 1. If we don't inflict at least twice as many losses, at least 8 to 1, or even more, we have a high chance of losing this war. And what does defeat mean for us? This means Bucha, Irpin, Borodyanka in all the territories occupied by the Russian Federation, so I don't even consider the option of losing, and unfortunately, there can be no draw, because they will not stop trying to destroy us as a country. Therefore, the only thing left to do is to defeat Russia as it is now, that is, to achieve its disintegration," the volunteer explains.
According to him, in order to defeat the Russians, it is necessary to inflict more tangible losses than they inflict on us: "As I said, 1 to 8, better, of course, 1 to 15, why not dream about it.”
Yabchanka is convinced that this can be achieved by having a technological advantage on the battlefield.
"At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the enemy was surprised by the use of Mavic drones, simple drones that changed the course of this war in many ways. Our next successful development is FPV drones, water drones are a great example of what we can do. For example, when we were fighting near Bakhmut: Chasiv Yar - Khromove or the "road of life" to Bakhmut, we inflicted losses on the enemy at a ratio of about 1/13. How did we manage to do this? We had a technological advantage in the means of surveillance of the enemy, we saw everything that was happening on the battlefield. And, of course, it's the coherence of our actions," says the commander of the Honor company. "Unfortunately, when we were fighting near Kupyansk, we did not have this advantage (advantage in the sky, in surveillance equipment). There was parity, to be honest, but they already had more Mavics and were not just adjusting their artillery with them, they were actively dropping them. Eventually, the Ukrainians started making the first drops.”
Yabchanka added that the mind of a free person in a democratic country can come up with something new, but a totalitarian country takes it and repeats and scales it: "Therefore, if we want to defeat the enemy, and we do, we are simply doomed to run ahead in terms of technology.”
- On February 25, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the number of Ukrainian soldiers killed in the two years of full-scale war with Russia was 31,000.
