Ukraine is building three-tiered defense line - PM Shmyhal
Ukraine is building a three-level line of defense borders that will serve as protection in all directions
Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this during a briefing in Uzhhorod following a meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.
He also said that Slovakia would supply engineering equipment for the construction of the defense line.
"Today, Ukraine is building a large-scale three-tiered line of defense borders, which means protection in all directions. The government has allocated tens of billions of hryvnias for this. This defense will allow us to both deter the enemy and advance. We need a significant additional amount of engineering equipment. We have agreed with Prime Minister Fico that we will cooperate in the supply of such equipment from Slovakia," Shmyhal said.
The head of the Ukrainian government noted that Slovak private companies will supply vehicles and armored escalators for demining based on the T-72 tank.
"Today I can say that Slovakia has already made a decision to supply two Bozhena-4 demining vehicles so that our sappers can carry out the relevant work in the de-occupied part of Kherson region. We are extremely grateful for this," added Shmyhal.
- On January 24, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico arrived in Uzhhorod and held talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal. Among other agreements, the prime ministers signed a statement on strengthening cooperation between the countries.
