Ukraine hits 58 targets in Russia in May, including explosives and drone factories
In May, Ukrainian Armed Forces hit at least 58 targets on the territory of the aggressor country, including munitions and drone factories
Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said this following the results of the final meeting on the performance in May.
“We are destroying the enemy and its defense potential deep in the rear. In May, DeepStrike assets hit 58 targets on Russian territory - military sites were struck, and the aggressor’s military-industrial capabilities were disrupted,” he said.
According to the Commander-in-Chief, the targets included facilities producing explosives and strike drones.
Syrskyi added that Ukrainian soldiers are destroying the Russian invaders as much as possible on the approach to their positions - artillery, aviation, and unmanned systems are actively working to inflict complex fire damage on the occupiers.
“In May alone, as of May 31, the occupying Russian forces lost over 34,000 personnel,” the general said.
He also said that in the Kursk direction, Russian troops are holding their best units, which they planned to deploy in the east. At the same time, the Defense Forces are managing to inflict significant losses on the enemy and defend their northern borders.
Instead, according to Syrskyi, the Russians have an advantage in the use of fiber-optic drones, which makes it much more difficult to fight them.
In addition, the army is currently continuing planned work on the transition of the Ukrainian Defense Forces to a corps system. This will improve the quality of troop management and strengthen control over the condition and effectiveness of combat brigades.
"I heard the proposals of the heads of military command and control bodies to resolve problematic issues and strengthen the Ukrainian Defense Forces. I have determined the relevant tasks," the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces summarized.
- On May 28, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit important facilities of the Russian military-industrial complex in the Moscow and Ivanovo regions of the Russian Federation.
