Ukraine gears up as Russia’s operational plan becomes clear - Defense Express
Defense Express military expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi believes that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are aware of Russia's operational intentions and are already preparing to disrupt its offensive
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"The Kursk operation is not yet over. A major issue is that we don’t discuss the fact that we, too, can prepare reserves for redeployment to other frontlines, not just the Russians. Various mobilization measures continue in Ukraine, along with the work of the defense-industrial complex, and so on. All of this is happening for a reason," Kyrychevskyi explained.
The expert emphasized that the Russian-Ukrainian war has entered a phase where the political impact of any military operation may be exaggerated.
"Giving Russians the psychological initiative — allowing them to claim they are terrifying, that everyone fears them, and that they will keep advancing — is not the right approach. We have entered a phase of the war where the political impact of any military action can be exaggerated. In our case, we must avoid creating false impressions and simply stating that the Russians are preparing for large-scale offensives. The very fact that various representatives of Ukrainian military formations are analyzing Russian intentions already means that these intentions have been exposed. We know Russia’s plans, and Ukraine is preparing accordingly," he concluded.
- On March 27, President Zelenskyy shared information about Russia's intention to launch a new offensive in Ukraine's Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
- On April 2, Ukraine's General Staff reported that 176 combat clashes took place on the frontline over the course of April 1. Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions most heavily in the Pokrovsk sector, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 64 Russian assaults.
