Ukraine destroys Russian Iskander missile systems targeting Kyiv

Ukraine’s General Staff reported the information.

The statement said that a unit of Russia’s 26th Missile Brigade, operating from the area of the town of Klintsy in Russia’s Bryansk region, attempted to launch a strike on a Ukrainian settlement, likely targeting Kyiv.

Thanks to effective intelligence work and the coordinated efforts of the Armed Forces and the Security Service of Ukraine, the targets were successfully hit. One Russian missile launcher detonated, and two others were likely damaged.

“The results of the strike are being clarified. The effective and timely actions of Ukrainian defenders helped prevent civilian casualties,” the report stated.
