
Ukraine can produce hybrid FrankenSAM systems on its own
Ukraine can now independently produce FrankenSAM air defense systems, having received the necessary technical documentation, says Senior Advisor to the President of Ukraine on strategic issues Oleksandr Kamyshin

During the briefing Ukrainian Arms 2024 Oleksandr Kamyshin said that Ukraine has technical documentation that will allow it to independently produce FrankenSAM air defense systems.
“For some of these projects, the technical documentation was transferred to the Ukrainian side. We are now fully capable of implementing these projects on our own,” he said.

For reference: The joint project between Ukraine and the United States, known as FrankenSAM (the name combines Frankenstein and the acronym SAM, which means “surface-to-air missile system”), was developed to overcome the shortage of Soviet missiles in the winter of 2022-2023 and to protect Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
- In January 2024, the Ukrainian Defense Forces used the FrankenSAM air defense system for the first time and shot down the Russian Shahed from a distance of 9 km.
- On April 10, the Ukrainian company Stetman signed a license agreement with Sweden's Requtech for the serial production of satellite terminals compatible with OneWeb (LEO) and Intelsat (GEO) platforms, which is analogous to Starlink.
