Ukraine can make it clear — it is committed to winning war, military expert Grant says
Ukraine is mostly on the defensive instead of actively inflicting strategically painful strikes on Russia on its territory
This was stated by Glen Grant, a retired British Army colonel and military expert, in an interview with the host of the Espreso TV channel.
"The United States today does not want to take the war seriously. This is because it is not part of Donald Trump's agenda. Trump's agenda is to gain power in the United States, keep it, and perhaps even make himself ruler for life – or, if not him, then his son," Grant said.
Grant added that the United States has not yet decided whether it is really ready to engage in a full-scale confrontation with Russia.
"I do not think we will know for a few more weeks whether Trump realizes he is being manipulated by Vladimir Putin, or whether his pro-Putin stance will remain unchanged. We will have to wait and see. But what we cannot do is wait when it comes to fighting Russia," the expert said.
He emphasized that drone strikes, especially against Russian air bases, are working.
"That effort needs to be reinforced. President Zelenskyy decided not to attack the parade, but he can still strike airfields and destroy Putin’s palaces," he added.
According to the expert, there are many solutions that Ukraine could implement to clearly demonstrate that it is fighting this war to win.
"So far, it has not fully demonstrated that. Ukraine has mostly been on the defensive, rather than taking the fight to Russia in a way that truly inflicts serious damage," Grant summed up.
