UK to increase drone deliveries to Ukraine tenfold in 2025
The UK plans to increase the supply of drones to Ukraine to 100,000 in 2025. London will invest £350 million
The UK government reports.
It is noted that last year, Britain supplied Ukraine with more than 10,000 drones, and tens of thousands more have already been delivered on the way to the ambitious goal of 100,000 drones for the current fiscal year.
“The UK is fully committed to working with allies to step up support to ensure Ukraine remains in the strongest possible position, which is why £4.5 billion of military support will be provided this year,” the statement said.
The ministry noted that Ukraine’s Defense Forces have demonstrated the effectiveness of drones in defending against Russia’s unlawful invasion. That is why the UK is doubling its investment in drones, working with British defense companies - including small and medium-sized enterprises - to support the UK economy and jobs as part of the government’s Defence Command Paper Refresh.
- The UK will allocate an additional £2 billion (approximately $2.7 billion) for drone development, using lessons learned from the war in Ukraine.
