"Tusk can use this against Duda": political analyst on comment about "ending war in 24 hrs"

Yevhen Mahda, Executive Director of the Institute of World Policy, commented on the statement of Polish President Andrzej Duda that Donald Trump, if he wins the presidential election, will end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours

He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.

"Duda is the president, he receives money from the Polish budget. Perhaps, when speaking, he forgot about the city of Wroclaw or other cities, it is difficult to understand. Politicians often say stupid things or make mistakes because they are experiencing certain difficulties at that very moment," Mahda said.

According to him, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will try to use these statements against Duda.

"He has already actively appealed to Ronald Reagan, senators, congressmen and Republicans, this is a fact. Tusk is an experienced man in this matter, with five years of experience as head of the European Council. Of course, he will use this," he added.

Today, Poland is experiencing a political crisis and a public confrontation between President Duda and Prime Minister Tusk, the political scientist noted.

"They have a level of personal rejection, although they seem to be formally communicating with each other. Duda makes certain mistakes that are quickly broadcast because political life goes on. Duda is now in his second presidential term. It's hard to imagine that after it ends in 2025, he will hold any significant position," Mahda says.

Unfortunately, the Ukrainian issua’s visibility on the American political agenda is working to Ukraine’s disadvantage. Trump is playing his own game, and it's quite obvious, he added.
