The Russian aircraft burned down on the night of October 12-13 at the Russian military Orenburg-2 airfield. The Tu-134 belonged to the 117th Military Transport Aviation Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces.
“Such Soviet-built aircraft are used, in particular, to transport the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense,” the statement said.
- On October 10, a Yak-130 military training aircraft crashed on the border between Russia’s Kalmykia and the Volgograd region.
