Trump is the best chance for peace in Ukraine - Duda
The Polish President Andrzej Duda believes that the best chance to end the Russian-Ukrainian war is the American leader Donald Trump
He said this in an interview with Sky News.
In Duda's opinion, the chance for peace for Ukraine is linked to the American president.
Answering a question about negotiations with Vladimir Putin, the Polish leader noted that the U.S. president has an idea of the Russian leader.
Duda stated that the ban on Nord Stream 2 during Trump's first term and the obstruction of Putin's energy ambitions through his state energy giant Gazprom is proof enough that Trump knows where to hit to cause pain.
Given the failures of European leaders in negotiating peace based on the Minsk agreements, he believes that the burden now falls on Donald Trump.
"If anyone is able to force the end of Russia's war, it is most likely only the President of the United States. The question is whether he will be determined enough to do that in a way — because it is also very important here in Europe being a neighbor of Russian aggression against Ukraine — that the peace is fair and lasting,“ Duda emphasized.
