Three settlements in Ukraine's Sumy region remain in 'gray zone' with no confirmed Russian occupation
Russia's advance in Bilovody and Loknya in the Sumy region is not the end, and Russian activity is intensifying every day. Constant pressure from the infantry is taking its toll, and previous successes are motivating the Russians to build on them
The OSINT information project DeepState reported the information.
“Currently, control of the settlements of Vodolahy, Volodymyrivka, and Kostiantynivka is uncertain. They are in the gray zone due to ongoing assault actions and the lack of clear confirmation of occupation. We stay in contact with many soldiers from various units defending the area, and interestingly, they all report different situations on this section of the front. For us, accurate and verified information matters more than the speed of updates, so changes on the map will be made once the real situation is confirmed,” the analysts stated.
According to them, the situation holds grim prospects. Experts say the Russians are targeting the settlement of Khotin, as well as Yunakivka: "Russian troops have already approached the latter closely and are attempting assault operations toward the village. Yunakivka has many houses that could provide cover, allow for troop buildup, and enable entrenchment. If Russian forces manage to capture the village and surrounding heights, there’s a risk they could use FPV drones against Sumy," DeepState explained.
They assured that the Defense Forces are making maximum efforts to stabilize the situation and halt Russia’s advance.
- Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, reported on May 29 that the frontline situation is fluid, and the Russians are trying to entrench in border villages.
