This isn't Putin vs. Zelenskyy — it's 'Russian world' vs. everything Ukrainian
Does collective responsibility exist for the crimes of dictators? Yes. Is it possible for a decent person to escape from under it? Obviously
In the case of Russia, some go into internal emigration, some emigrate from the aggressor country. True heroes defend Ukraine with weapons in their hands.
But for me, the most important thing is the rejection of Putin's values and views, particularly the values of the "Russian world."
Which public figures among Russians are ready to tell the world and their compatriots about Shevchenko, Franko, Lesya, Khvylovyi, Kurbas, Stus, Kalynets? Who will admire the poets of the Executed Renaissance, dissidents from the Ukrainian Helsinki Group, heroes of this war? Who will learn Ukrainian and respect it? Who, finally, will popularize Okean Elzy, Kurbasy, Homin Choir, Anzhelika Rudnytska, or the song Baraban performed by Pyvovarov and Klavdia Petrovna? ))). These are all so different, but all Ukrainian.
"They can fight Putin as much as they want, but they will remain his allies as long as they jointly impose his language, values, culture, and history on us and fail to notice ours, the real one."
And it doesn't matter who it is: a fighter against Russian corruption or a deputy from OPZZH who supports the Russian church and tradition.
This is not Putin's war against Zelenskyy — this is the war of the "Russian world" against everything Ukrainian.
