‘There’s no limit to their audacity’: Ukraine's MFA calls Russian security guarantees absurd

According to Espreso correspondent, MFA spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi noted that security guarantees are a very complex undertaking.

“It takes time to develop concrete modalities: how it will work, who can be deployed, where—on land, in the air, at sea, what role they will play. There’s also the political-legal dimension: what the protocols will be for the presence of these forces and personnel, and how responses will be coordinated in various situations. This requires lengthy cooperation among military officials, politicians, and diplomats,” the Foreign Ministry spokesperson explained.

He said this process is currently underway, with national security advisers playing a key role. On Ukraine’s side, this includes Presidential Office Head Andrii Yermak and his international counterparts, all working within the framework of advancing the peace process.

Commenting on the idea of security guarantees for Russia, Tykhyi added: “I have a question: security guarantees for Russia against what? Against itself? That’s absurd. The audacity of Russia knows no limits. That’s all I can say on this matter.”
