'Heavy fighting ongoing': Ukrainian military denies Russian claims of capturing Kamianka in Kharkiv region

Viktor Trehubov, spokesman for the Khortytsia troop grouping, stated this on Suspilne.

"Yesterday we checked our positions — our posts, our observation points, our fortifications — they were still there, both in and around the village. At least as of yesterday. I’ll find out about this morning later in the evening. Seems to me they’re stretching the truth a bit," the spokesman said.

He noted that active fighting is ongoing in the area.

"Most likely, they ran into something nearby. But taking control — it's like how they’ve been ‘taking’ Toretsk since February," Trehubov added.

• On April 28 alone, there were 178 combat clashes along the front line. Ukrainian defense forces are holding their ground in 12 directions, with the highest number of attacks recorded in the Pokrovsk direction.
