Syrskyi: Ukrainian forces advance in Sumy sector, liberate two settlements
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that as of August 11, Ukraine’s defenders have achieved gains in the Sumy sector
Ukraine’s General Staff reports.
Syrskyi noted that during the meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff, he reported on the details of the operational situation at the front.
“It’s difficult, but we are holding back the enemy. In the Sumy direction, we are conducting active operations and have made some gains in advancing and liberating Ukrainian land,” he said.
In its 10:00 p.m. update on August 11, the General Staff reported that Ukraine’s Defense Forces had cleared the settlements of Stepne and Novokostiantynivka (formerly Pershe Travnia) in the Sumy region of Russian occupiers. Through active operations, troops of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment pushed enemy units beyond Ukraine’s state border.
The Staff meeting discussed additional funding for combat units, speeding up the awarding of servicemen, and simplifying and digitizing the property write-off process.
