Satellite images reveal damage after Ukraine's attack on Borisoglebsk military airfield in Russia
On the night of August 14, Ukrainian drones targeting the Borisoglebsk military airfield in the Voronezh region of Russia struck the airfield’s northwestern section
Satellite images from Planet Labs, published by Radio Liberty's investigation project Schemes, reveal significant damage, including the destruction of several hangars. The drones specifically targeted this part of the military airfield.
Aviation expert Anatolii Khrapchynskyi told Schemes that this area houses the technical and operational unit responsible for repairing and maintaining aircraft. The Borisoglebsk airfield is home to Russian Air Force aircraft, including Su-25, Su-30, Su-34, and Su-35.

On the night of August 14, long-range drones of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine carried out the largest attack on Russian military airfields since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The drones targeted airfields in Voronezh, Kursk, Savasleyka, and Borisoglebsk.
