An explosion was heard in Sumy at 11:28 p.m., Suspilne reports. At 0:48 a.m., the city military administration announced a missile strike on the outskirts of Sumy. The consequences are being clarified.
In the morning, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported a nighttime attack on the city. The explosion, according to Suspilne, occurred at 0:27 a.m.
"The Osnovianskyi district of the city was under Russian fire. Three private houses were damaged, one of them was on fire. Two women were injured, both hospitalized," he wrote.
According to the regional military administration, the fire in Kharkiv was caused by the fall of ammunition fragments. The injured women are 50 and 75 years old.
Ukraine's air defense forces destroy 3 out of 6 missiles launched by Russia

As a result of combat operations, air defense destroyed 3 Kh-101 cruise missiles in Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions.
Poland raises air force due to Russian night attack
On the night of Monday, July 8, Polish and allied air forces took to the skies in response to Russia's nighttime attack on Ukrainian territory.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported the information.
The Polish military has warned that there may be an increase in noise levels in the southeast of the country due to aircraft flights.
"Tonight, intense activity of the Russian Federation's long-range aviation is observed, including strikes on facilities located in western Ukraine," the statement said.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces noted that the last time such activity of Russian aviation was recorded was on the night of June 21-22.
"All the necessary procedures have been implemented to ensure the safety of Polish airspace, and the Polish Operational Command is constantly monitoring the situation," the Polish military said.
