Russia's attack on Ukraine: air defense forces destroy 21 missiles
On the night and morning of Tuesday, January 23, Russian troops launched 41 missiles at Ukraine. The Ukrainian air defenders managed to destroy 21 missiles, including 15 cruise missiles

The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, reported the information.
He noted that on January 23, Russian forces launched a combined missile strike against Ukraine, using cruise, ballistic, air and anti-aircraft guided missiles.
A total of 41 missiles were spotted. Zaluzhnyi noted that most of the missiles were of the ballistic missile type, including:
- 4 S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles - launched from the Belgorod region, Russia, in the direction of Ukraine’s Kharkiv region;
- 15 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles - from six Tu-95MS strategic bombers (launch area - Engels, Russia);
- 8 Kh-22 missiles from Tu-22M3 bombers - from Bryansk and Oryol regions, Russia, in the direction of Kharkiv and Sumy regions;
- 12 Iskander-M ballistic missiles - from Belgorod and Voronezh regions;
- 2 Kh-59 guided missiles from two Su-34 aircraft - launched from the territory of the Belgorod region, Russia.
As a result of combat operations, the Ukrainian Air Force, in cooperation with the Air Defense Forces, destroyed 15 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles, 5 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 1 Kh-59 guided missile.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces noted that not all enemy missiles reached their targets.
