Russia steps up attacks near Pokrovsk amid 74 frontline clashes

On June 23, there were 74 combat clashes on the Russian-Ukrainian front. Russian troops are assaulting Ukrainian positions in eight directions

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' reported the information.

Since the beginning of the day, 74 combat clashes have taken place on the front.

The enemy from the territory of the Russian Federation carried out artillery shelling in the areas of the settlements of Prokhody, Petrushivka, Pokrovka in Sumy region; Liskivshchyna in Chernihiv region.

In the Sumy and Kursk directions, the Russian army launched one airstrike, using four guided aerial bombs, and conducted 131 shellings, four of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army is conducting one attack on the Defense Forces' positions near the settlement of Dvorichna, and the combat clash is ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian enemy tried to advance to Ukrainian positions in the direction of Pishchane. The Defense Forces successfully repelled the enemy attack.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine offensive actions of the Russian army near the settlements of Tverdokhlibove, Ridkodub, Karpivka, Kolodiazi, and in the directions of Hrekivka, Zelena Dolyna, Novyi Myr, and Olhivka. Six combat clashes continue.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russian enemy attacked the Defense Forces' positions five times near Novomarkove and in the directions of Mykolaivka and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk direction, the invading Russian foces advanced 13 times on the positions of our units near Dyliivka, Shcherbynivka, Petrivka, Yablunivka, Rusynyi Yar, and in the directions of Pleshchiyivka and Yablunivka. Fighting continues in three locations.

In the Pokrovsk direction, during the day, Russia attempted 24 times to advance to Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Promin, Novotoretske, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Novoserhiivka, Udachne, Oleksiivka, and in the directions of Shakhove, Volodymyrivka, Molodetske, and Novopavlivka. Five clashes are still ongoing. Airstrikes hit the areas of Poltavka, Malynivka, Novotoretske, Razine, and Pokrovsk.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Russian aggressor attacked 11 times, with air support, near Bahatyr, Novosilka, Shevchenko, Vilne Pole, and in the direction of Voskresenka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russia launched four attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders; three attacks were repelled, and one combat clash continues.

In the Kursk, Siversk, Huliaipole, and Orikhiv directions, no enemy offensive actions have been recorded so far.

Ukrainian troops are wearing down the Russian enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear.

  • Russian forces are increasingly relying on infantry assaults, reducing the use of light vehicles in some areas, with heavy equipment mainly used in the Pokrovsk direction.
