Russian troops hold just 10% of Chasiv Yar – 24th Brigade press service
Andriy Polukhin, in the 24th Brigade's press service, said that Russian forces have failed to make progress in Chasiv Yar over the past few months
He discussed this during an interview with Espreso.
"I made an error earlier. The Russians haven't occupied 40% of Chasiv Yar. In fact, they haven’t taken more territory in months. As of now, they control just one neighborhood in the eastern part of the city. Based on DeepState data, this accounts for slightly over 8%, but it’s tough to give an exact figure. However, they control roughly 10% of the city. This portion offers no tactical advantage and has been practically destroyed," Polukhin said.
The soldier added that Russian troops continue their assaults on Ukrainian positions in Chasiv Yar by deploying small infantry groups.
“This is why their assaults look the way they do. They form small infantry groups and attempt to storm our positions. We’ve got a defensive edge due to a wide channel in the area, which gives us excellent visibility of their movements,” he added.
- On the morning of Saturday, August 31, Russian forces shelled the town of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region. At least five residents were killed in the attack.
