Russian strike destroys Hospitallers medical base in Dnipropetrovsk region
The occupying Russian forces have destroyed a base of medical volunteer battalion Hospitallers in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region
Battalion commander Yana Zinkevych reported.
"The Russians shelled Pavlohrad this morning. Children were killed, civilians were killed, peaceful homes were destroyed. Our battalion's base, along with all the property and equipment in it, was completely wiped out. They struck right at the heart once again. They erased 10 years of work by thousands of people. They killed civilians," she wrote.
Zinkevych reminded that the Hospitallers base was a refuge for medics, soldiers, displaced persons, and even injured animals found a place in their shared home.
“There was our whole life there, filled with love and unity, and now — only ashes, ruins, shattered glass, and a silence that screams with unbearable pain. It held the memory of our fallen Hospitallers, artifacts of their priceless lives and heroism, and now they are gone too,” the commander added.
Yana Zinkevych also announced a fundraising campaign to collect 20 million hryvnias for a new battalion base.
- On April 24, the invading Russian forces launched strike drones at Ukraine, resulting in fatalities in Pavlohrad and leaving 15 others injured.
