Russian troops advancing on Pokrovsk: "Swarming like cockroaches" – Ukraine's 47th Brigade
Russian forces continue their ongoing assaults in the Pokrovsk direction, prompting the forced evacuation of families with children from settlements closest to the front line
Anastasia Blyshchyk, a spokeswoman for the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade Magura, stated this during the United news telethon.
According to her, the tactics of Russian troops have remained largely unchanged since June.
"Previously, they were very active in their assaults using equipment, with up to 15 units operating within the area of responsibility of our brigade alone," Blyshchyk said.
She stated that after all this equipment was destroyed on the battlefield, the Russian army shifted to infantry assaults. She noted that while equipment occasionally appears, this is rare.
"Russian artillery strikes first, then infantry moves in. Russian troops come in such large numbers that they swarm like cockroaches. No matter how many we eliminate, they keep coming," the spokeswoman emphasized.
Blyshchyk also mentioned that Russian forces are using motorcycles not for assaults but to move more quickly and avoid detection by Ukrainian drones. However, she added, this strategy has not been effective.
Evacuation of families with children from threatened villages announced
Meanwhile, Vadym Filashkin, the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, announced plans to enforce the evacuation of families with children from 12 settlements across four communities in the Donetsk region.
This decision was made during a meeting of the Regional Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations, due to the deteriorating frontline situation in the Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Kurakhove, and Illinivka communities.
Forced evacuations are planned for four settlements in the Novohrodivka community: the town of Novohrodivka, and the villages of Marynivka, Mykhailivka, and Lysivka. Seven settlements in the Hrodivka community might also be evacuated: the village of Novoekonomichne, and the villages of Promin, Moskovske, Balahan, Mykolaivka, Myroliubivka, and Malynivka.
Roman Padun, the head of the Kurakhove City Military Administration, has requested the evacuation of families with children from the village of Ostrivske as well.
Additionally, 15 children from the village of Poltavka in the Illinivka community are scheduled for evacuation. In total, 744 children and their families will be moved from these communities to safer areas in Ukraine.
Vadym Filashkin emphasized that only armored vehicles will be used for evacuations due to the active use of FPV drones by Russia in these areas.
- Over the past day, August 3, 140 combat clashes took place along the Russian-Ukrainian frontline. The situation remains most tense in the Pokrovsk direction, and Russia is also active in the Toretsk and Kupiansk areas.
