Nataliya Humeniuk, the head of the joint press center of the Operational Command "South," conveyed this insight on the United News telethon.
"I believe that there will be a pause in the use of tactical aviation for some time. The Russians will reevaluate their launch strategies, considering the vulnerabilities of their aircraft. However, they will not cease bombing as they perceive aerial superiority," she stated.
Humenyuk underscored that until Ukraine acquires modern fighter jets, Russian aviation will exert pressure.
- On February 17, the Ukrainian Air Force successfully destroyed 3 Russian aircraft simultaneously, including 2 Su-34 fighter-bombers and a Su-35 fighter.
- On the following day, February 18, another Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber was reported downed by the Ukrainian Air Force. Additionally, during a Russian nighttime attack, Ukrainian air defense forces neutralized 12 Shahed drones and a missile.
