Russian shelling doubles: Ukrainian officer on situation in Pokrovsk, Kurakhove directions
Serhii Tsehotskyi, officer with the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, says that Russia is suffering enormous losses, and the number of killed Russian soldiers has almost doubled
He shared these insights during an interview with Espreso TV.
"Our brigade's area of responsibility covers the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. In the Pokrovsk direction alone, we faced over 40 enemy attacks, with attempts to storm Umanske, Yasnobrodivka, and Netaylove. Today, on May 13, in Netaylove, three Russian BMP-2 vehicles were deployed in the morning, two of which were destroyed, while the third managed to escape. Additionally, there were four attempted Russian breakthroughs in the Kurakhove direction, resulting in the loss of their T-72 tank," he stated.
Tsehotskyi also mentioned ongoing Russian shelling targeting civilian areas in the rear. Today, S-300 rockets struck Selydove, resulting in the destruction of residential buildings and an educational institution.
"Over the past few days, the enemy has nearly doubled the frequency of shelling and drone activity. Despite this, the enemy is suffering significant losses. Previously, we averaged around 1,000 enemy casualties per day, but in the past day alone, we've seen approximately 1,700 eliminated invaders. In other words, the number of enemy casualties has doubled," noted Serhii Tsehotskyi.
- In the evening briefing from the General Staff, it was reported that on May 12, there were 146 combat engagements at the front. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 112 Russian attacks across nine directions, with 30 of them occurring in the Pokrovsk direction.
