Russian forces building three new bridges in Donetsk region to boost logistics
Russian forces have begun constructing three new bridges, including a railway bridge, in the Donetsk region to improve their logistics
This was reported by Petro Andriushchenko, head of the Center for the Study of Occupation.
"The Russians are building three entirely new bridges at once — one railway bridge across the Berestova River, another across the Kalmius River (near the village of Rozdolne), and one across Shyroka along the Novoazovsk–Mariupol highway, near the new railway branch that was being built as a backup in the spring of 2024," he said.
According to Andriushchenko, Russia's goal is to drastically improve logistics between Rostov, Novoazovsk, and Volnovakha (via the village of Hranitne), as well as Donetsk for road transport. At the same time, they are slowly constructing a new railway branch between Mariupol and Rostov.
"In essence, this is already a branching of the 'Rostov to Rostov' logistics network within the framework of the land corridor to Crimea," he added.
- It was recently reported that Russian forces are continuing preparations for the launch of a ring railway from Rostov to Crimea, passing through temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.
