Russian night attack on Kyiv: UAV wreckage causes injuries, fires, and damage to high-rise
On November 6, Russia launched strike drones at Ukraine. On November 7, debris from the attack damaged a building in Kyiv, resulting in casualties

Kyiv attack aftermath: debris fell in 5 districts of the capital
“Air defense is operating in Kyiv. Stay in shelters until the air raid is over,” the Kyiv City Military Administration reported at 1:17 a.m.
Prior to that, the Kyiv City Military Administration warned of UAVs from the north heading for Kyiv.
Twenty minutes later, the Kyiv City Military Administration again reported air defense over the capital.
The Kyiv City Military Administration informed that as of 1:54 a.m., it was preliminarily known that an apartment in a residential building in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv had been significantly damaged as a result of the Russian attack.
“There is no fire at the scene. Preliminary, there are no casualties,” the agency added.
Later, the Kyiv City Military Administration clarified that a fire broke out on the territory of the garage cooperative.
“The wreckage of the UAV fell in Holosiivskyi district. According to preliminary information, garages are on fire. Emergency services are on their way to the scene,” said Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.
The Kyiv City Military Administration informed that the fire had spread from the garages to the service station - the total area of fire is 300 square meters.
At 2:26 a.m., Klitschko reported that a shock wave damaged windows in some apartments of a residential building in the Holosiivskyi district.
At about 5 a.m., the Kyiv Regional Military Administration informed that air defense was operating in the region.
“In the Pechersk district, the upper floors of a high-rise building are on fire. All emergency services are at the scene. The attack on the capital continues. Stay in shelters,” Klitschko wrote at 5:16 a.m.
Later, the Kyiv City Military Administration clarified that the wreckage of the Russian drone fell on an apartment building. There is currently smoke there, and people are being evacuated. There was no information about the victims.
At 5:34 a.m., it was reported that a partial destruction of the building's structures at the 31st floor level occurred in the Pechersk district. Emergency workers are working at the scene.
Klitschko said that in a high-rise building in Pechersk, as a result of the fall of UAV debris, a fire broke out on the 33rd (technical) floor.
“The evacuation of people continues. The city has organized 2 buses for the residents. No one has yet sought medical attention,” the mayor added.
A series of explosions occurred in Kyiv around 6 aюm. The Kyiv City Military Administration wrote about the work of air defense forces.
According to Klitschko, fragments of a Shahed were also recorded falling onto a residential building in Solomianskyi district. At another address, a non-residential building is on fire as a result of the attack.
Meanwhile, in the Pechersk district, a fire in a high-rise building was localized.
According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, as a result of the attack in Kyiv, debris fell in two other districts - Obolon and Solomianskyi.
“In Obolon district, a fire broke out on the top floor of the business center. There was no information about the victims. In Solomianskyi district, debris fell on the territory of an industrial enterprise,” the statement said.
Klitschko also said that a two-story private house in the Podil district was on fire.
The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that as a result of the Russian drone attack on Kyiv, debris fell in 5 districts of the capital:
- Holosiivskyi district: an apartment in a residential building was damaged, one person sought medical assistance. A fire also broke out on the territory of garages and a nearby service station.
- Pecherskyi district: a fire broke out in a restaurant on the 33rd floor of a residential building over an area of 50 square meters, partial destruction of building structures on the 34th technical floor.
- Solomianskyi district: a fire broke out in a warehouse building on the territory of an enterprise on an area of 600 square meters. Information on the victims is being clarified. In addition, the debris fell on the territory of a medical center. According to Klitschko, a person was injured there.
- Obolon district: fire on the roof of a 6-storey business center building over an area of 10 square meters.
- Podilskyi district: debris fell, causing a fire in a residential building. The information is being clarified.
Around 7:50 a.m., the consequences of the Russian drone attack were recorded in six districts of Kyiv, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.
In particular, in the Darnytskyi district, debris fell on an open area. Debris also fell on a residential building. There was no fire and no casualties.
According to the National Police, a 34-year-old resident of a house in Holosiivskyi district was injured in the attack.
Meanwhile, in Solomianskyi district, the falling debris set fire to a private house, a shop and cafe, and a private medical center, where a 57-year-old security guard was injured.
The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko, said that the attack took place in waves, from different directions, with UAVs entering the city at different altitudes - both very low and high.
“As a result of the coordinated work of air defense and other components of the defense forces, more than three dozen Russian UAVs were neutralized in the airspace over Kyiv and on the outskirts of the city (the exact number and type of drones will be made public by the Air Force),” the statement said.
Espreso correspondent Dmytro Didora, who was in the Pechersk district of the capital, said that there was a lot of glass around the site of the crash, as utility workers were working there.
“There was information about evacuating the residents of this house. As of now, we have seen that the residents are there, taking their pets for a morning walk,” the correspondent said.
Espreso correspondents also showed the capital's subway after the alarm was canceled.

Rescuers in the capital started working late at night
The spokesman for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv, Pavlo Petrov, said that the rescuers started working late at night.
“On the night of November 7, rescuers responded to the first call around 3:00 a.m. to Holosiivskyi district, where a service station and a nearby garage caught fire as a result of the Russian attack. The total area of the fire was 200 square meters. The fire was extinguished around 4:00 am,” he said.
According to him, rescuers went to two more locations in Holosiivskyi district. Dry grass over an area of 20 square meters caught fire, and the explosion damaged the glazing of windows and room doors in one of the residential buildings.
“Rescuers are still working in the Solomianskyi district of the capital, where a fire broke out in a 600-square-meter warehouse building and spread to the roof of 50 square meters. The fire has been extinguished, but about 40 rescuers and 11 pieces of equipment are still at the scene to clear the rubble,” added Pavlo Petrov.
Rescuers also went to another address in Solomiansky district, where a car and a one-story outbuilding were on fire. 10 rescuers and 2 pieces of equipment were engaged.
“There was also a visit to Solomianskyi district - a fire in a three-story building of a medical center with an area of 20 square meters, the fire was extinguished. Twenty rescuers and five pieces of equipment were engaged. In the Pechersk district, a high-rise building was damaged, a fire broke out on the 33rd floor with partial destruction of the structure on the 34th floor. The area of the fire is 50 square meters. About 50 firefighters and 16 pieces of equipment were engaged. The fire has been extinguished,” the spokesman said.
The State Emergency Service also responded to the aftermath of a nighttime attack in Obolon and Podil districts of the capital.
Explosions in Odesa
At 2:09 a.m., Suspilne Odesa reported on explosions in the city.
In the morning, Oleh Kiper, head of the Oleska regional military administration, said that Russia had attacked Odesa with drones.
“The falling debris damaged the facade and glazing of an 11-story residential building, 14 parked cars and a gas pipeline (without ignition). The glazing of two nearby five-story buildings was also damaged,” the statement said.
A 30-year-old man was injured in the attack and received minor injuries - doctors treated him on the spot. At the same time, State Emergency Service psychologists supported five people who needed help.
