Russian forces send some units from Kharkiv to Kursk region
Russia has redeployed some of its troops from the Kharkiv region to the Kursk direction, but still has enough forces and resources to carry out attacks in the Kharkiv area
Vitalii Sarantsev, a spokesman for the Kharkiv operational and tactical troop grouping, shared this information on Suspilne TV on August 23.
“Russia continues to shuffle its forces, but the troops remaining in the Kharkiv sector are still substantial. We cannot afford to relax, as the Russians still have significant strength and firepower to cause damage and continue their assaults,” he said.
Sarantsev also mentioned that there is evidence of additional Russian reserves being deployed to the Kharkiv region, but details about their numbers and specific units are still being confirmed.
He noted that the hottest area in the Kharkiv direction is the city of Vovchansk.
“Russia is also attempting assaults in nearby settlements, including the districts of Starytsia and Tykhe, which are on the right and left flanks of the Vovchansk direction. However, all Russian attempts are being halted, and there is no advance,” he explained.
Sarantsev also noted that Russian activity has decreased in some northern areas of the Kharkiv region. This could indicate that Russia is regrouping, digging trenches, and establishing communication.
