Russian forces intensify activities in Zaporizhzhia sector - Syrskyi
Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said the Russian army has ramped up offensive actions in the Zaporizhzhia direction
He said this following the results of the final meeting on the performance of the Armed Forces in May 2025.
According to the army chief, the Russians focused their main efforts on the Pokrovsk, Toretsk, Lyman, Novopavlivka directions, as well as on the areas bordering the Russian Federation in the Sumy region. The Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back the enemy, inflicting significant losses.
The occupying Russian forces have also become significantly more active in the Zaporizhzhia sector, where they are conducting active offensives.
"We are taking measures to increase the resilience of Ukrainian troops' defense by reinforcing threatening areas and the degree of Russian fire damage with reserves. In particular, we are taking active steps to improve the tactical situation, including on the territory of the aggressor country," noted Syrskyi.
- According to the Ukrainian General Staff, 191 combat engagements were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front on May 30. Russian forces are most active in the Pokrovsk sector.
