Russian forces intensify infantry push in Ukraine’s Chasiv Yar - Ukraine’s 24th Brigade

"The soldiers of the 24th Mechanized Brigade in Chasiv Yar are resisting daily Russian assaults, employing both small group tactics and mechanized assaults with equipment. Russian forces are actively shelling the city. Urban battles are taking place right now. It's hard to say what portion of the city is controlled by Ukrainian forces and what part by Russian occupiers. There is no clear front line as the fighting is taking place house by house. Russian soldiers are trying to establish a crossing over the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal, destroying it to transport their equipment. Russian troops are attempting to fill the city with infantry for further active operations," commented Andriy Polukhin, spokesperson for the 24th Mechanized Brigade.

Andriy Polukhin noted that the soldiers of the 24th Brigade are fighting against Russian forces with drones and artillery, which is disrupting their plans for further advancement.

• On February 12, the press service of the 24th Mechanized Brigade reported that the city of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region had been completely destroyed. Despite this, the Russian army continued to attack the settlement with artillery, mines, aviation, and drones.
