Russian guided aerial bombs hit Kharkiv, wounding at least 10 civilians
On May 22, the occupying Russian army dropped another portion of glide bombs on the city of Kharkiv, injuring civilians, damaging high-rise buildings, shops, cars and a civilian enterprise
This was announced by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.
According to him, as of 4:30 p.m., 10 people were known to be wounded. Four were hospitalized, one of the men was in serious condition.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov added that a piece of shrapnel also passed through the windshield of the tram. The female driver got out of the vehicle at that time. The windows of a nearby high-rise building were almost completely shattered.
Syniehubov said that the Russians hit the city with UMPB D-30 ammunition. The hits were recorded in Shevchenkivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts. High-rise buildings, shops, car washes, cars, and a civilian enterprise were damaged.
According to the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office, 11 civilians were injured in the strikes.
The prosecutor's office clarified that Russian troops struck Kharkiv at around 1:50 p.m.
In Shevchenkivskyi district of the city, a hit was recorded near the entrance to a cafe. Cars, residential buildings, a car wash, shops, etc. were damaged here. Ten people, including five men and five women, were injured and suffered acute stress reactions. One of the victims is a 55-year-old trolleybus driver who was near the epicenter of the explosion. The man is in serious condition and has had two legs amputated.
In the Kholodnohirskyi district, an enemy air strike destroyed the buildings of a civilian enterprise that was not functioning during the full-scale Russian invasion. A 42-year-old woman who works near the site of the Russian attack suffered an acute stress reaction.
As of 5:45 p.m., the prosecutor's office reported 12 injuries.
“A 16-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with an injury,” the statement said.
Data on casualties varies, with the National Police of Ukraine reporting 10 victims as of 6 p.m., one of whom is in serious condition.
