Russian forces attempt to break through Ukrainian defence in Marinka, Novomykhailivka areas 5 times - General Staff

Russian attacks across Ukraine

Russia launched 8 missile strikes, 55 airstrikes, and 23 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation 

A total of 27 combat engagements took place over the last day. The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus the situation remained unchanged. No signs of the formation of offensive groups were detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 15 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled three Russian attacks in the areas of Senkivka, Petropavlivka and Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region, where the invading troops, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical situation without success. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, Russia did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions. More than 10 localities suffered from enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled an attack near Klishchiivka. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 Russian attacks in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and another 9 attacks in the areas of Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian continues to hold back the Russian troops in the areas of Marinka and Novomykhailivka. About 5 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, more than 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson direction, 5 settlements were subjected to Russian artillery shelling.

The Ukrainian forces’ strikes against Russian troops

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck at 19 of the Russian troops’ military positions.

Missile troops targeted 1 control center, 1 ammunition depot, 1 artillery unit, 1 air defence radar, and 1 Russian Tor missile system.
