Russian drone attack on Ukraine hits Sumy industrial zone, killing one person

At 05:14 a.m., the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that Russian drones had been detected in the region. Air defense forces were active.

Attack on Sumy

Acting Mayor of Sumy Artem Kobzar said that Russian drones struck a non-residential building in the city. As of 06:38 a.m., there were no reports of casualties.

Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Oleh Hryhorov clarified that Russian forces hit an industrial area on the outskirts of Sumy. Vehicles and non-residential buildings were damaged. He also noted that a security guard might have been there, but contact with him was lost.

Rescue and search operations, as well as efforts to deal with the aftermath of the attack, are ongoing. All emergency services are involved.

At 08:30 a.m., Hryhorov reported that the body of the deceased security guard was found under the rubble.
