Russian ballistic strike hits Mykolaiv causing casualties: 1 person killed, 9 injured

On Sunday, March 17, explosions were heard in Mykolaiv during an air raid alert. Local authorities reported several missile strikes, resulting in 1 death and 9 injuries

Vitaliy Kim, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration,reported.

According to him, the missile strikes occurred within the city limits after the sounds of explosions. Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych also confirmed the explosion.

"There was a strike on Mykolaiv. From the place it came to Odesa. And the second launch is the same," Kim noted at 2:02 p.m.

Suspilne later reported repeated sounds of explosions.

"Two attacks have occurred... On Forgiveness Sunday, should we forgive the Russians for shelling us with ballistic missiles?" wrote the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

Later, it became known that two victims were injured, their condition was moderate, and later the number of victims increased to five.

At around 2 p.m., the Air Force announced a threat of ballistic missile attacks from the south.

In the evening, the State Emergency Service reported that 1 person died (it is noted that he died in hospital). Six people got injured, including 1 child.
At 20:00 the number of victims increased again.

"1 person died (a man born in 1974 died in the hospital), 8 people were injured, including 1 child (a girl born in 2013)," Vitaliy Kim wrote.
The next morning, the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that as a result of yesterday's rocket attack on the city, one person died in hospital and 9 others were wounded, including two children. The injured are receiving the necessary medical care

In addition, private and residential buildings and civilian cars were damaged. Parts of the outdoor lighting network, part of the tram tracks and the overhead power lines were also destroyed. Restoration work is underway.
