The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported this on February 28.

Russian attacks across Ukraine

During the day, Russia launched 5 missile strikes, 91 airstrikes, and 102 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Multi-storey and private houses, a church, and other infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 30 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked.

In the Kupyansk sector, the Ukrainska Defense Forces repelled one Russian attack near Tabaivka, where the Russian army tried to drive Ukrainian troops from their positions. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled six enemy attacks near Terny, Yampolivka in the Donetsk region, and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, where the Russian forces tried to break through the Ukrainian army's defense. Artillery and mortar shelling affected more than 10 localities.

In the Bakhmut sector, the Ukrainian army thwarted eight enemy attacks near Ivanivske and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region, where the Russian army was trying to improve its tactical position. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 20 Russian attacks in the areas of Berdychi, Orlivka, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region. Russia launched airstrikes near the towns of Oleksandropil, Ocheretyne, Novobakhmutivka, Novoselivka Persha, Orlivka, and Netailove in the Donetsk region. About 20 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding back the Russians in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, where the Russian army, with the support of aviation, tried to break through Ukrainian defense 25 times. More than 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Ukrainian army repelled one Russian attack in the area east of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson sector, Russia does not abandon its intention to drive Ukrainian units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, three attempts to storm the Ukrainian positions were made over the last day. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions

Over the course of the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 7 manpower concentration areas.

The missile troops destroyed a control center, a military position, 4 artillery pieces, an air defense system, an electronic warfare station, and one other important enemy target.

  • Over the past day, February 27, 102 combat engagements took place at the front. Ukrainian forces repelled enemy attacks in 7 sectors and killed 1,060 soldiers.
