Russian army tries to break through Ukrainian defense 21 times in Novopavlivka sector

Over the last day, 49 combat engagements took place at the front, and Ukrainian troops repelled 9 attacks in the Avdiivka sector

Russian attacks across Ukraine

In total, Russia launched 7 missile strikes, 60 airstrikes, and 73 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. A number of high-rise buildings, medical facilities, cars, a school, a kindergarten, and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation 

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 10 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk sector, Russia did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions. However, about 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled two attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, where the Russian army tried to break through the defense. More than 10 localities suffered from artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Bakhmut sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled four attacks near Ivanivske and Andriivka in the Donetsk region, where the Russian troops, supported by air power, tried to improve the tactical situation. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine attacks near Berdychi, Semenivka, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, where the Russians, supported by air power, tried to drive our Ukrainian units out of their positions. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the enemy in the areas of Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka, where the Russian army, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 21 times. About 15 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Russian troops, with the support of aviation, attacked the Ukrainian positions 3 times near Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson sector, Russia did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions during the day. Kherson and Mykhailivka, Kherson region, and Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, came under enemy fire.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions 

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 10 Russian military positions.

The missile troops hit two manpower concentration areas, an air defense facility, an electronic warfare station, and another important object.

  • There were 50 combat engagements at the front over the last day. The Russian army attempted to storm the Ukrainian positions 48 times in 6 sectors.
