Russia launches 21 attacks in Novopavlivka direction, 27 attacks in others – General Staff

During the day, Russian troops attacked the Ukrainian Armed Forces 21 times in the Novopavlivka direction and 27 times in all other directions

Over March 26, there were 50 combat clashes at the front. Russian troops attempted to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 48 times in 6 directions. Of these, 21 were in the Novopavlivka direction

Russian attacks on Ukraine

Over the day, Russia launched 4 missile strikes, 52 air strikes,and 43 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Multi-storey buildings and private houses were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline update

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. Over 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops did not conduct any assault operations. They conducted an air strike near 3 settlements in the Kharkiv region. More than 10 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repulsed 8 attacks near 4 settlements in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, where Russian troops tried to break through Ukraine’s defense. About 10 settlements suffered from artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 5 attacks near 3 settlements in the Donetsk region. Russian troops launched air strikes near 2 more settlements in the Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders thwarted 7 attacks near 3 settlements. Russian troops launched air strikes near 2 settlements in the Donetsk region. More than 20 settlements were subjected to Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian troops keep holding back the Russian army near Novopavlivka. Despite 21 attempts, Russian forces, supported by aviation, were unable to alter the tactical situation. Russian artillery and mortar fire targeted over 20 settlements, meanwhile air strikes affected 2 more settlements.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian troops attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Staromayorske, Donetsk region, and Robotyne and northwest of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region, 4 times with the support of aviation. Russian troops launched air strikes near a settlement in the Zaporizhzhia region. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson direction, Russian troops launched 3 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Krynky, Kherson region. Over 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

Strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on Russian positions

During the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 8 concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment and 2 control points.

Ukrainian missile troops destroyed 1 artillery unit, 1 air defense system and 1 ammunition depot.

  • On March 26, the deputy commander of the 3rd Assault Brigade, Maksym Zhorin, told which direction is a priority for Russian troops and in which direction the Ukrainian Armed Forces advance poses a major threat to the Russians.
